International OSCE Conference To Be Held In Kyrgyzstan

An International OSCE conference on combating terrorism will take place on 13th-14th December in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. This was disclosed in Bucharest by Muratbek Imanaliyev, the Kyrgyz foreign minister during the work of the 9th conference of the OSCE member-states Council of Ministers. According to him, the conference theme is: "Strengthening Security and Stability in Central Asia, the Build up of a Global Force to Combat Terrorism" and it is taking place on the initiative of the President of Kyrgyzstan Askar Akaev. The foreign minister claimed that in Bucharest the participating countries had successfully managed to make a joint decision for developing a general approach to the fight against international terrorism and extremism, including a mutual early warning system for any threats that arise and the eradication of the sources of finance and the means of support for terrorism across all the OSCE regions. As the minister underlined the fight against international terrorism demands a universal and structured approach based on solid political partnerships and concrete co-operation between governments.
