Georgian Parliamentary Vice Speaker Vakhtang Rcheulishvili has proposed to work out a state programme to develop the Russian language in Georgia.
A significant part of Georgia's young generation due to objective and subjective reasons hardly speak any Russian, although the overwhelming majority of middle-aged and old Georgians speak very good Russian, Vakhtang Rcheulishvili pointed out, when speaking at a governmental meeting.
Vakhtang Rcheulishvili pointed to the fact that Georgian boys and girls were keen on learning English. Meanwhile, the knowledge of Russian is vital for development of science, culture, business and any other life areas as well as for international and interstate communication," the Vice Speaker stressed.
After the governmental meeting Vakhtang Rcheulishvili told journalists that Georgia's President "had approved the proposal to develop the corresponding programme and given the necessary instructions." Georgia currently has 180 Russian schools or schools with classrooms where classes are held in Russian.
After it turned out that Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov included the Fonbet betting company in the list of backbone enterprises that can count on state support, everyone started talking about these bookmakers.
