Kremlin Aide Condemns Fake Leaks on US–Russia Talks About Ukraine

Moscow Challenges Media Reports on Secret Calls Over Ukraine Settlement

Yuri Ushakov, aide to the Russian president, said he plans to discuss recent leaks with US special representative Steven Witkoff and stressed that all their exchanges remain confidential.

Russia Rejects Media Reports as Fabricated

He told the news outlet RIA Novosti that some leaks about telephone contacts concerning Ukraine “carry a fake nature,” while others remain unworthy of comment because his conversations with Steven Witkoff stay strictly closed to the public. He stressed that any leaks related to discussions on a Ukrainian settlement remain unacceptable. According to him, Russia has not discussed any specific American plan with anyone.

Yuri Ushakov added that he intends to raise the issue directly with the US special representative.

“We will exchange views about the alleged phone leak,” he said.

Earlier, Bloomberg published two alleged transcripts without naming any sources — one from a conversation on 14 October between Steven Witkoff and Yuri Ushakov, and another from 29 October between Kirill Dmitriev, the Russian president’s special representative, and Ushakov. Kirill Dmitriev called the publication fake.
