Nobody closes McDonald's restaurants in Belarus

Press secretary of the Belarussian President Natalia Petkevich flatly denied the information of the foreign media that Alexander Lukashenko "has allegedly signed a decree on closing six popular McDonald's restaurants in Minsk".

"The President of Belarus didn't sign any decree damaging the interests of McDonald's popular fast food restaurants," the press secretary told RIA Novosti on Tuesday. According to her, Alexander Lukashenko has never spoken about it.

However, "experts of the health department of the Minsk municipal executive committee believe that the Belarussians prefer traditional cuisine rather than McDonald's fast food dishes", the Minsk municipal executive committee said.

A recent conference on healthy way of life of Minsk residents focused on the necessity to expand the net of national Belarussian fast food, the press service of the executive committee noted.
