President of Ingushetia speaks on problem of Chechen migrants

President of Ingushetia Murat Zyazikov considers it impossible toconsolidate Ingushetia and Chechnya into one republic. He declared this ata press conference in Moscow today. According to him, two republics of theRussian Federation "have already gone through all this, they wereconsolidated and then split up into two republics." "We won't repeat thisagain," Zyazikov remarked. He also mentioned that no pressure was exertedon him here. Talking about Chechen migrants, who live in Ingushetia, the officialstressed that 90,000 migrants were living in camps now, compared to thebeginning of his presidential term, when "there were 147,000 of themthere." They all are returning to Chechnya on a volunteer basis, but "wehave a problem now, that people want to return, but there is no place togo." The financial side of the process of closing ten temporary camps inIngushetia is to be resolved now, as it will require around 300m rubles(about $9.5m). At the same time, the President of Ingushetia mentioned that"no one is pushing migrants from Ingushetia and will never do so." .
