Rosoboronexport to Show Sub-Machine Gun for Underwater Shooting at Sofex-2002 Exhibition in Jordan

The Rosoboronexport federal state unitary enterprise will show the best goods of the Russian defence enterprises, including the sub-machine gun for underwater shooting, at the 4th international exhibition of special task forces Sofex-2002 to begin in the Jordanian capital on Monday.

RIA Novosti was told in the Rosoboronexport that the well-known designer of small arms, Mikhail Kalashnikov, was a member of the delegation. At the present time, he is a consultant of the Rosoboronexport general director.

On the basis of the sub-machine gun AK-47 designed by Kalashnikov, who will turn 55 this year, a whole family of simple and reliable patterns of automatic weapons has been created, Rosoboronexport pointed out. Kalashnikov sub-machine guns are in high demand throughout the world.

Rosoboronexport representatives believe that the following small arms stand's exhibits are most important: the AK-101 and AK-102 sub-machine guns, a special AS sub-machine gun, the APS sub-machine gun for underwater shooting, the Bizon pistol-machine gun, the SPP -1 underwater pistol, as well as the SR-1 and PSS pistols.
