Rescue workers still have hopes to find the survivors in the Karmadon tunnel

Rescue workers and volunteers would probably be able to reach the entrance to the Karmadon tunnel as early as Saturday, reported sources from the North Ossetian Ministry of Emergencies. North Ossetia is an autonomous Russian republic in the North Caucasus, where many people died as a result of the Kolka glacier descent on September 20 this year.

The Ministry of Emergencies sources pointed out that the rescuers are continuing to move toward the entrance of the Karmadon tunnel, breaking layers of ice manually most of the time. The depth of the vertical passage through the ice cover is about 29 meters.

Meanwhile, another unidentified male body has been found in the lower part of the glacier, near the destroyed recreation camp. According to official statistics, 17 people have been pronounced dead and 120 are considered missing, including the staff of the film crew headed by Sergei Bodrov Jr.
