Rescue team continues search for fisherman swept by waves into ocean

The rescue team continues the search for a fisherman swept into the ocean.

The California coast, from Santa Barbara south to Orange County, has been under attack of huge waves since Sunday. According to the forecast this weather will persist till Tuesday.

Several people were swept into the surf. All but one were rescued.

A 23-year-old fisherman vanished with other 2 anglers Sunday evening from the rocks on the Palos Verdes Peninsula.

Two of the men managed to get back to shore but the third disappeared. The search will go on till the victim is found.

The Santa Barbara Harbor breakwater, Stearns Wharf and Pismo Beach Pier were shut down because of the waves, but were reopened by Monday morning.

The pier at Southern California 's Seal Beach was also closed on Sunday and Monday.

The average height of waves was estimated at 8 feet to 10 feet, but in some places it reached 28 feet.
