NBA champion Tony Parker is pretty tired of being surrounded by men – so he wants to have daughters.
Parker and Eva Longoria, a star on the U.S. television series "Desperate Housewife," are in France for their wedding this weekend, with a reception planned at a historic chateau outside Paris.
In an interview with Le Parisien newspaper published Friday, Parker said he was eager to have kids.
"That would be even better than my NBA titles, even if I don't compare private life and sports," he said. "Eva talks to me about it all the time. I'd like to have girls, because I come from a world of boys."
Parker and Longoria were expected to be formally married at a city hall in Paris on Friday, before their lavish ceremonies Saturday at Vaux-le-Vicomte, a 17th century chateau 55 kilometers (34 miles) southeast of Paris.
French law requires all couples who marry to tie the knot at a city hall, even if they have a church wedding as well. Mayor Bertrand Delanoe was to perform the ceremony later Friday at the local city hall in Paris' 4th arrondissement, or district, according to the mayor's office.
The San Antonio Spurs star told Le Parisien he was "the luckiest guy in the world."
"I feel blessed, lucky, and I realize it," he said.
