59th Cannes Film Festival opens, movie critics are dissapointed with "Da Vinci Code"

The ceremony took place in the DeBussy theater. Among the guests were Sidney Poitier, Juliette  Binoche and of course  Sir Howard Stringer, head of Sony Entertainment, who sponsored the project,  Fox News reports.

Hollywood expected it to be best selling movie of this year, but the results seem to be opposite.Despite the expensive marketing campaign and  A-list stars, the public, including journalists and movie critics was dissapointed. The general public might have been a little more forgiving, but few reviewers had anything good to say about what's been billed as the most eagerly-awaited movie of the year, Deutsche Welle reports.
