Russia Goes to Summer Time March 30

At 2 a.m. on March 30th, Russians will turn their clocks ahead one hour.

The press service of Russia's Gosstandart reported that in compliance with the procedure of the calculation of time determined by the Russian government Russia switches to summer time from March 30th, 2003, to October 26th, 2003.

Russia has regularly switched to summer time since 1981. This practice takes into account the experience of the world's most developed countries a majority of which have been going to summer time since 1916. Now over 100 countries, including entire Europe, switch to summer time.

Scientists believe that the annual seasonal switch to summer or winter time does not substantially affect people's health, while the economic benefit is evident.
