Russian office of Soros Foundation applies to prosecutor's office

The Russian office of Soros' Open Society Institute applied to the Moscow prosecutor's office in connection of the attempt to seize the mansion in the centre of the city which the Foundation has on lease.

As the RIA Novosti correspondent was told by the head of the office, Yekaterina Ganiyeva, on the night of Monday to Tuesday, five persons, headed by the director of the Nobel Technologies company, which disputes the right to this mansion, pushed aside the guards, tore away the plate with the name of the leaseholder and placed their own locks on the gates.

However, the entrance to the building was not blocked, and in the morning the employees of the Foundation were able to enter the building through the wicket-gate.

On Monday, the Moscow Court of Arbitration confirmed the right of the Open Society Institute to the ten-year lease of the building. The Court ruled that the treaty presented by the Nobel Technologies, under which the Soros Foundation had allegedly to leave the building, was counterfeit.
