Photo exhibition on September 11 tragedy in New York opens in Vladivostok

The exhibition of noted American photographer Joel Meyerowitz "After September 11: Images From Ground Zero" opened in Vladivostok, a large port in Russia's Far East, on Tuesday. The exhibition features the consequences of the September 11th, 2001 tragedy in New York.

John Meyerowitz is the only photographer to have been granted unimpeded access to ground zero since September 13th, 2001. Meyerowitz, the winner of many prestigious international awards, managed to take some 4,000 pictures at the site of the tragedy.

The exhibition, organised by the US Embassy to Russia, has already been shown in Moscow and two other big cities.
