This season Russian Dinara Safina became the youngest prize-winner in WTA

This year Russian Dinara Safina became the youngest prize-winner in the Women Tennis Association (WTA). The sister of the World's second racquet Marat Safin has won the tournament in Sopot, Poland at the age of 16 years and three months.

In the finals Dinara Safina won the first set against Slovenian Henrieta Nagyova - 6:3, and while leading the second set 4:0, her competitor retired from the game due to an injury.

Dinara Safina's victory in Sopot is the first major success in her relatively short professional career. The prize-winning money for Safina was estimated at $50,000.
