On September 25, 2001, Pope John Paul II will visit Armenia to take part in the celebrations of the 1,700th anniversary of Armenia's adoption of Christianity as a state religion. This was reported by the commission for the celebration of the 1,700th anniversary of Holy Echmiadzin, the residence of the Catholicos of All Armenians.
