Kursk Operation May Be Suspended

Divers may suspend their effort to attach lifting devices to the hull of the Kursk submarine by the evening of Wednesday, October 3 because of worsening weather conditions, says the Northern Fleet headquarters. The hydrometeorological service of the Northern Fleet reports wind force at 7-10 m/sec and wave height at 1.5 m. Later in the day, wind force is expected to reach 17 m/sec and heave the sea into 2.5 m waves.
