Hole-Drilling Work On Kursk Reactor Put Off

Cutting of holes in the sixth reactor and fifth non-passage sectors of the wrecked Kursk submarine has been put off for 24 hours for "technical reasons", reports the press service of the Northern fleet. Such work is planned for the Wednesday-Thursday night. Specialists from the Russian Radiation, Bacteriological and Chemical Safety Service will take samples from the reactor sector so as to assess its condition. Now, the floating dock is being dried. In the last 24 hours the Kursk hull has risen by one meter above the water surface. Full-scale investigation work on the Kursk nuclear submarine will begin in two or three days.
