Russia, Iraq To Sign Agreement On Sport Cooperation

A delegation of Russia's Olympic Committee with its President Leonid Tyagachev as the chief delegate has arrived in Iraq for an official visit. It is the first visit of such a level in the history of Russia-Iraq sports relations. The goal of the visit is to give a new character to the sports relations between the two countries, said Leonid Tyagachev. In his words, the visit will be crowned by signing a cooperation agreement between the Olympic Committees of Russia and Iraq both in the development of mass sports and highest achievements sports. After meeting President of the Iraqi Olympic Committee Udayy Husseyn /elder son of Saddam Husseyn/, Leonid Tyagachev will hold negotiations with Iraqi Vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan and Vice Premier Tariq Aziz.
