Moscow To Host Haute Couture Week

A Week of Haute Couture will take place for the eighth time in the Russian capital. The collections of the world's leading couturiers will be shown from Wednesday to Sunday in the State Central Concert Hall of Russia. During the seven years of holding the Weeks of Haute Couture in Moscow they have become an inalienable part of the cultural life in the Russian capital. At these Weeks, 54 collections from 34 foreign Fashion Houses and Russian couturiers and Fashion Houses have been shown to the Muscovites. This time the Russian public will enjoy the collections from the Pierre Balmain Paris Fashion House and from Maurizio Galante who will come to Moscow for the first time to present a new galaxy of brilliant experimental designers, bearers of a revolutionary concept of Haute Couture. He was a real "discovery" at the Paris Week of Haute Couture. The legendary Italian Missoni Fashion House will show a de-luxe Pret-a-Porter collection Spring-Summer - 2002. It is expected that the collection by Antonio Berardi, disciple of John Galliano, will be a sensation. This year the main prize, Gold Mannequin, will be contended for by Russian couturiers Viktoria Andriyanova, Andrei Sharov, Tatyana Parfyonova, Igor Chapurin and also by the debutantes of the Week - Lena Makashova, Olga Kameneva and Darya Razumikhina. All the Week's collections will be shown for the first time.
