Russia's Nikolai Davidenko Qualifies for Second Round of Tennis Tournament in San Jose

Russian tennis player Nikolai Davidenko has passed the first round of the Tennis Tournament in San Jose, winning the prize of $355,000.

Davidenko, who had recently scored the winning point for his team against the Czechs at the Davis Cup Tournament, defeated American Jeff Morrison in three sets - 6:3, 2:6, 7:6 /7:1/.

In order to reach the quarterfinals, the Russian player will have to meet with another American Robby Ginepri, who ranks, at present, the 58th on the Association of Tennis Professionals /ATP/ rating list.

Nikolai Davidenko - Robby Ginepri game will be held on Thursday at the central court of the San Jose arena.
