Triumph of Russian operas "Boris Godunov" and "Prince Igor" in Spain

Russian operas "Boris Godunov" by Modest Musorgsky and "Prince Igor" by Alexander Borodin, performed at the Euscalduna Theatre in Bilbao, are enthusiastically appreciated by Spanish critics.

These performances are the best Christmas present for Spanish music-lovers, El Mundo said.

The Spanish press points to masterly conduction of the outstanding musician Valery Gergiyev and vocal skills of Nikolai Putili, Larisa Shevchenko, Vladimir Vaneyev and Paata Burchuladze both in "Prince Igor" and "Boris Godunov".

According to art critics, though "Prince Igor" is a grandiose performance, involving some 400 actors, all the elements of the opera, including choir and ballet, are perfect and harmonious.
