Buy to you a little underground

A curious piece of new was reported from the city of Novosibrisk. The head of the city administration, Viktor Tolokonsky signed a resolution, which permits to sell an underground station into private use. So far, the question is about only one station.

Tolokonsky explained his decision with a very banal reason - lack of money. According to him, the city administration does not have enough money to keep the station in working state. The station will be sold in an auction. The head of the city administration characterized this action as “experiment.” If the experiment is a success, other underground stations will be sold, too. But if so, then all big Russian city administrations start sell underground, including Moscow.

Which is obvious, is that commerce structures support the Tolokonsky idea: the auction is planned for December 23, while already four firms expressed their wish to participate in the auction. There may be more pretenders for this piece of Novosibirsk underground, than there were in the case of Slavneft.

It is not clear, how the new owners of Marshal Pokryshkin Station intend to use the purchase, but, of course, there are different variants. For example, they can simply close the station and turn it into a trade centre or into a fitness centre. Or they could simply take fare for transit through what is called private property.
