Organisers and participants in Europe-America-500 international project to meet in Moscow

Organisers and participants in the historic Europe-America-500 project will meet on Friday, November 22nd, in the Church of Our Saviour, with the high blessing of Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II. RIA Novosti received this information at the Moscow public and inter-regional relations department.

The project was devoted to the 500th anniversary of the discovery of America and was marked by a symbolic "missile shot at America": a spaceship Resurs-500 was launched from the Plesetsk spaceport ten years ago. After several days of staying in outer space its descending device for the first time in history alighted on water near the city of Seattle. Nineteen containers with messages of goodwill of Russia and other European countries to American citizens were on board the spaceship. After decades of confrontation the project became a symbol of unity between Europe and America. At that time the citizens of the two continents were united by a symbolic "space bridge". At present, various real projects connect our countries.
