New party, Spiritual Heritage, in Russia

The Ministry of Justice has registered the Socialist United Party of Russia /Spiritual Heritage/.

The state registration certificate was handed over to Alexei Podberyozkin, the party's Secretary General, on Wednesday, the partry administration reported. Henceforward, the SUPR (SH) has an official status of a political party and a right to participate in the country's political life on the legal basis.

At the same time, the party has not been authorized to stand for elections to local or federal bodies of power. To achieve this right, it ought to register its departments in at least 45 constituent members of the Russian Federation. Only 8 out of 24 registered parties comply with this requirement today.
