A crate of vodka for freedom

This story has taken place in the city of Novosibirsk. Two fellows betted on a crate of vodka: one said to the other he could open handcuffs with a simple pin. The brave guy was too self-confident and seemed to have overestimated his sleight of hand. After having snapped the handcuffs, the free-will captive started to tinker at the lock. He spent four hours in senseless attempts and reasonably decided that his freedom is more important than vodka and called the rescue service. The rescuers immediately released the “bold” from the iron captivity.

I wonder, who got the crate of vodka?
