Egypt police arrested furniture dealer for having 23 wives

Egypt police arrested a 58-year businessman for the fact that the man had 23 wives at the same time. A Lebanese radio informs, the arrested furniture dealer from Alexandria used forged deeds to marry girls who were even under age in accordance with the Egyptian legislation (16 years).

This was the way how the man managed to entrap 23 women within ten years. According to the court decision, the ardent lover usually married girls from poor families, the ones who were probably happy to marry such a man.

However, the man was arrested because he had violated the law of Shariat stipulating that a Muslim couldn’t have more than four wives at once.

A similar case was already considered at the Egypt court in January, and the verdict passed provided for seven years of penal servitude.
