Soviet warriors commemorated in China

On Tuesday World War II veterans laid wreaths and bouquets of natural flowers to the graves of Soviet warriors in the Chinese town of Tunjian, who were killed during the liberation of China from the Japanese invaders.

On Monday morning, a delegation of Russian veterans left for a memory campaign, dedicated to the 67th anniversary of the end of World War II, on board a border ship, said the press service of the Far-Eastern Border Service Department. The veterans are to commemorate the victims and to tell the younger generation about the severe war years and the courage of soldiers and officers.

They are to visit the Chinese town of Heihe, border outposts and settlements on the Russian bank of the Amur river.
