To Khabarovsk citizens - from grateful emperor

The example of Western museum workers who unexpectedly found a Rafael drawing inspired workers of a Far East museum.

This Far East museum is certainly not a European one and its reserves are not as rich as that ones of European museum. Though…

Recently, workers of Grodekov museum of local lore decided to introduce order in a desolate depot.

“Under the level of different logs, wires, empty old boxes, the workers saw a covered with thick dust big box of planks, - the director of the museum, Nikolai Ruban tells. – In the box, there was a 2-metre beautiful monument created of something similar to marble. The top is arranged with stone dragons.”

According to preliminary conclusions of historians and sinologists who were invited to examine the monument, it was created in 18th century by order of a Chinese emperor. The inscription which is not well preserved reads that the emperor thanks a woman for a good upbringing of his son. Deciphering of other inscriptions needs some time. The monument is supposed to be brought to the city of Khabarovsk the late 19th century.
