Tourist who got lost a week ago found in Ussuri Taiga

Rescuers have found tourist Igor Khrapsky, a staffer of the legal department of the Vladivostok administration, in Ussuri taiga. The 48-year-old official got lost a week ago.

As deputy chief of the Maritime Territorial Search and Rescue Service Anatoly Morozov told RIA Novosti, Igor Khrapsky went, as a member of a group, on an excursion to water-falls and got lost in the Terneisky district in the north of the Maritime Territory. The trip was organised by the Ginseng Maritime league of walking. Representatives of the league told rescue workers about the missing tourist. A group of six immediately went to the scene and looked for him for several days.

Khrapsky was found near the water-falls, on the Srednyaya Amgu river on Monday night. Despite his disability and the lack of food, he managed to survive due to the habits and skills of a hunter which he had acquired in his youth. He caught fish by means of simple devices, and gathered berries and other gifts of taiga.

The condition of his health is assessed as satisfactory.
