Woman saves her child while being sucked into moving escalator in China. Video

A terrible incident took place in China. A young woman was holding a child by her hand when going up an escalator in a shopping mall. As they got off the moving part of the escalator, the metal plate covering the floor right near the moving stairs collapsed.

The woman managed to push the child to safety and fell into the hole underneath her feet the next moment.

The people nearby tried to help the woman, although to no avail - she disappeared in the huge mechanism of the moving escalator.

The tragedy occurred in the city of Jingzhou, Hubei Province. The body was removed from the escalator in only three hours. The woman died from fatal injuries and blood loss, Pravda.Ru reports with reference to The Federal Agency of incidents.

The owners of the shopping mall, where the tragedy occurred, declined comments.
