Family of beheaded US journalist expose his last letter

The family of journalist James Foley, who was brutally killed in Iraq, exposed his last letter, in which he wrote about his childhood and dreams of freedom.

Last week, the world was shocked with the video of Foley's execution in Iraq. James Foley, an American journalist, was captured in 2012 in Syria by terrorist group ISIL. In the video, a masked gunman, who introduced himself as a member of the group, speaks English with an accent typical of the south of England. The militants showed another American journalist - Steven Sotloff- and said that his life would depend on what President Barack Obama would prefer to do next.

The text of the letter was published on the Facebook page of James Foley's family. In the letter, Foley wrote that he used memories of the wonderful time that he had spent with his family not to think about his captivity. He also wrote that dreams of his family and friends were taking him away from the thoughts about captivity," ABC said.

In the letter, the journalist recalled various moments of his life, for example, how he, when a child, was playing with his brothers and sisters, how he was going shopping  with his father or how he was riding bicycle with his mother. Foley also wrote that all of militants' captives would be very happy, when some of the prisoners would be released.

According to him, there were 17 other people living with him in one room. He wrote that the prisoners would talk about sports, movies, everyday life and arrange chess tournaments.

On Sunday, British intelligence experts said that the "key suspect" in the murder of US journalist Foley was Abdel Abdel-Majid, who was living in a mansion worth £ 1 million in the west of London a year ago. Among ISIL militants, he is known as  Jihadi John.
