Dagestan residents want to grow cannabis legally

Residents of Dagestan want to obtain a permit to cultivate non-narcotic cannabis. Nowadays, illegal narcotic plants are still cultivated sporadically in the regions of Dagestan, where it is used in cooking and medicine.

Local residents say that the plant has a lot of positive properties. The locals add hemp seeds to dishes, make hemp oil that they use not only for cooking but also for feeding poultry, as well as in folk medicine. Annual operations to destroy cannabis fields causes resentment among local residents.
