New play about the last love of Henry Miller, a well-known American writer

On November 3rd and 4th Sergei Vinogradov's theatrical company will stage a play called "Venus" at the Moscow Art Theatre named after A.Chekhov (MKhAT).

Honoured Artist of Russia Sergei Vinogradov, ideologist and director of the play, based his work on the texts by the well-known American writer, Henry Miller, and on the first-time Russian translation of the love correspondence volume called "Dear, dear Brenda." Vinogradov suggests his interpretation of the play which describes a true fact from Miller's biography. It is an attempt to solve the mystery of the wonderful, last and greatest love story of the American writer.

In his last years, Miller, "the great hooligan" and "the great romantic," chanced to meet a young Hollywood actress Brenda Venus. For the first time in his life Miller realised that to melt in the one you love was the highest purpose and wisdom of love.

Svetlana Khorkina, the World's Absolute Champion in sports gymnastics, will star as Venus. Honoured Artist of Russia Sergei Vinogradov, Honoured Artist of Russia Alexander Parra, Natalia Tchernyavskaya, Vladimir Zaitsev and others will be among her stage partners.
