Fishermen fight for paid fishing in Russia's south

A mass brawl occurred in the Stavropol region during a conflict based on paid fishing. Nine people were injured in the fight. A criminal case was instituted in connection with the incident, the press service of the local Interior Ministry said.

The incident occurred last night in the Grachevsky district. Two residents of Spitsevka village went on a fishing trip to the lake, owned by company "Don". Only a few hours later a security guard demanded a payment for fishing. The fishermen had already been drunk by that time and refused to pay, in a rude manner. Then the guard called his friends, who chose to settle the conflict by force.

However, the fishermen called their own friends too. Nine people, including four women, were injured as a result of the ensuing brawl, BaltInfo reports.

The victims went to a local hospital to ask for help, and it was doctors who called the police. Hospitalization was not required for any of the victims.
