Tennis star Anna Kournikova's mother has been arrested and charged with child neglect.
Police were alerted after Alla Kournikova's five-year-old son survived a 15-feet high drop from a second-storey window at his mother's Florida home.
The 46-year-old socialite left young Allan, half-brother of former tennis ace Anna, in her Palm Beach pad while she went out running errands.
A spokesperson for Florida's Department of Children and Families said that after speaking to family members, officers concluded that there was no need to take Allan into care, Sky News reports.
According to Palm Beach Daily News, Alla Kournikova was released from jail Tuesday night after posting $3,000 bond.
She was arrested on a charge of child neglect after her 5-year-old son Allan was found that afternoon wandering the street near their 211 Seabreeze Ave. home. The boy was barefoot after jumping out the window of his second-story playroom.
He is now staying with relatives.
According to police, Kournikova, locked the boy inside the home with a cell phone while she ran errands. When she last saw him, he was sitting on a sofa watching television. In less than an hour, he was outdoors, soaking wet.
Spokeswoman Elisa Cramer said DCF has an open investigation of the case.
"The child is safe and with relatives," she said.
Allan is the half-brother of tennis celebrity Anna Kournikova. At his young age he has shown natural athletic ability in tennis, golf and equestrian activities.
