Drew Barrymore Took A Shot At Directing

Drew Barrymore went behind the camera for the first time with Whip It! which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.

And according to the red carpet walkers she did it perfectly well.

For her directing debut, Drew Barrymore chose the tale of Bliss, a Texan girl who follows her dream of starring in a roller derby.

David Stern, the former Wonder Years narrator who plays the role of the lead characters' father, had nothing but kind words for Drew's foray into movie-making.

He said: "Drew was fantastic - I love working for actors who are directors.

"The way she brought out all the emotions in the actors was beautiful."

Likewise the female cast members - which includes Eve, Ellen Page and Juliette Movie - gushed over Drew's directorial skills, according to Press Association.
