Janet Jackson Planning Spectacular VMA Tribute to Michael

Now that Michael Jackson’s body has finally been laid to rest, it looks like his sister Janet Jackson is planning to pull out all the stops for a one-time tribute to the King of Pop at next weekend’s MTV Video Music Awards.

According to TMZ, Janet and her crew of around 20 backup dancers have been rehearsing around the clock — up to 15 hours in a single day — for Sunday night’s annual awards spectacle.

Janet, who has remained relatively quiet in the wake of her family’s tragic loss, is reportedly working on the tribute with some of the world’s top choreographers, including Frank Gatson and Travis Payne, OK! Magazine said.

Michael Jackson's brother slammed the media Saturday for airing footage of the pop star's celeb-filled, highly orchestrated funeral.

Randy Jackson said in a statement that the family has pleaded with the press "to give us one moment of privacy to mourn as a family out of the public spotlight."

Instead, he said, a camera on a helicopter "severely disrupted" the service.

"I was dismayed last night and again today at the coverage I saw on television of our ceremony for Michael," Randy Jackson said, New York Daily News informs.
