Putin welcomes participants and guests of days of slavic written language and culture

President Vladimir Putin has sent a message of greetings to participants and guests of Days of Slavic written language and culture.

The message says, in particular:

"I am glad to welcome you at the Day of the Slavic Written Language and Culture which is widely celebrated in many Russian cities.

It's become good tradition to honour great enlighteners Kirill and Methodius, founders of the Slavic written language and culture. The alphabet created many years ago is still used in modern languages. It undoubtedly demonstrates common and inseparable roots of Slavic peoples, their spiritual and cultural kinship.

I am confident that this wonderful festivity of Slavic culture will leave in hearts of its numerous participants and guests the brightest and warmest reminiscences.
