The Russian army's Alexandrov song and dance company is to give performances in the capital of the Czech Republic, Prague, after a 18-year-long intermission. The chief message of this event is to remind Czech people, above all the rising generation, about the glorious pages of the Czech Republic's and Russia's joint history.
On the programme is the company's appearance at the Congress Centre on May 5th and participation on the next day in a gala concert on the occasion of the 58th anniversary of Czechoslovakia's liberation from Nazism and the 80th anniversary of Radio Czechoslovakia.
The concert is sponsored by the Czech government, the general staff of the Czech army and Czech Radio under the patronage of Prime Minister Vladimir Spidla.
