Russian Language Contest Launched for CIS and Baltic States Students

The Pushkin Institute of Russian Language and Literature in Moscow has launched a Russian language contest for students from the CIS countries and Baltic states.

89 high school students have arrived in Moscow from the Baltic states and CIS countries to participate in the contest. They will have to go through three sets of try-outs, including the Young Poet and Young Speaker contests. The latter is of particular interest because contestants will have to assert their life and philosophical principles in a three-minute speech.

The winners will have an opportunity to enter Russian universities without exams. Last year, 6 winners took the opportunity.

The contest will last through April 27th.
