Chechen State University Obtains State Accreditation

Russian Ministry of Education gave state accreditation to the Chechen State University, Head of the University, Adnan Khamzayev, disclosed to a RIA Novosti correspondent on Wednesday.

At present, approximately 10,000 students attend the University at full-time and correspondence studies. 30 various professions are taught at the 30 departments of the University, Khamzayev said.

There were 2,5 people per vacancy last year.

1,500 specialists graduated from the Chechen State University in the course of the two last years. However, the republic witnesses difficulties with the job placing of the graduates, Khamzayev noted.

The majority of the students are studying in the buildings, given to the University by the Chechen government. The University buildings are in good shape and have all necessary equipment. The University has received over 250 computers and its classes are equipped with studying laboratory instruments. The University library, which used to hold over a million of books, is currently under the reconstruction and has only more than 200,000 books.

By the end of this year, the University also plans to form an Internet hall, which will be the Chechen centre for computer technologies studies, the Head of the Chechen University disclosed.

The teaching staff of the University is 620 people, including 30 professors and 150 Dr. Sc., Adnan Khamzayev stressed.
