Before 2000, the geographical location of the North Pole would move for eight centimeters towards Canada.

At the beginning of the XXI century, the direction changed towards the British Isles. Moreover, the displacement of the North Pole became twice faster.

Every year, the North Pole moves for 17 moves centimeters.

The reason for the displacement of the North Pole is believed to be the melting of glaciers in Greenland, as well as the melting of ice in the west of the Antarctic.

The loss of water and drought in the region of the Caspian Sea and the Indian subcontinent are also considered to be important causes that contribute for the displacement of the geographical location of the North Pole.
