Tropical storm Chantal has formed over the Atlantic Ocean on Sunday. The storm is moving in the direction of the Lesser Antilles, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

At the moment, the cyclone is about 1,300 kilometers east of Barbados, where the authorities announced a storm warning. Wind speeds in the epicenter of Chantal make up about 65 kilometers per hour. The storm is moving westward at a speed of 43 kilometers per hour.

According to meteorologists, after passing over the Lesser Antilles, the cyclone is expected to hit the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Cuba.
