Progress and success of Parkland Health & Hospital System was marked by Thomson 100 Top Hospitals National. In addition to joining the list of top 100 hospitals, Parkland received an award for its benefits.
Parkland is best-known as the hospital where three individuals associated with the assassination of President John F. Kennedy died. It is the only publicly supported hospital in Dallas County; funds are primarily provided by a specially designated property tax on Dallas County residents.
Parkland joined Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple as the only Texas hospitals in the "Major Teaching Hospitals" category. Parkland also received awards in 2001 and 2003.
