Dr. Eric Leefmans is going to appeal a medical malpractice verdict issued by a New Hampshire Court last week.
A 42-year-old Randolph Hinz accused Leefmans and his team of blindness as a result of doctor error during the operation at a Concord hospital in 2003 following a car accident. The court found Leefmans guilty and ordered to pay out $1.75 million plus interest. The other two doctors named in the lawsuit were not found guilty.
The case was that the doctors decided to treat the fractures in his leg and just didn’t pay attention to more serious blood loss that could stabilize his condition. The consequence of such negligence is Hinz’ blindness.
