Massachusetts introduces a bill consisting of 2 parts: to adopt electronic medical records and ban pharmaceutical marketing gifts.

The system of electronic medical records will require $25 million and presumably will be created by 2015.

As for the ban, Massachusetts will be the first state to do it. It means that representatives of pharmaceutical companies won’t be allowed to offer gifts, while physicians (staff and family members) will be banned from accepting them.
