The chief executive of Russian natural gas monopoly Gazprom met with the president of the China National Offshore Oil Corporation Wednesday.

Alexei Miller and Fu Chengyu discussed cooperation on the liquefied natural gas (LNG) market, including supplying LNG to the Asia-Pacific region, as well as joint development of offshore oil and natural gas fields and cooperation in third countries.

The China National Offshore Oil Corporation, established in 1982, is the oldest of China's three major oil and natural gas companies. It maintains an exclusive right to offshore oil and natural gas surveying and production in China, RIA Novosti reports.
