The press service itself reported the news one hour later than Gazeta.ru referred to press service. Moscow Echo radio was reporting the news every 30 minutes. Then followed state RIA Novosti and Vesti. It is interesting that in his interview to Moscow Echo Drel could not remember exactly when his client started hunger strike.

Somebody is spreding this information on purpose”, Kalinin said, adding that Khodorkovsky spents $1000 a month on food.
