Economy Ministry to use Brazilian experience

The Russian Economy Ministry and the Institute for Complex Strategic Studies are interested in Brazilian experience of implementing major infrastructure projects. Russian experts analyzed Russian and Brazilian experience in this field. Head of the Russian Economy Ministry German Gref earlier claimed that a lack of major infrastructure projects hampered the development of the Russian economy. However, Russia has always had problems with infrastructure projects, as the majority of Russian officials oppose imposing private ownership for infrastructure related to the transportation sector. Concession is not based on effective laws and the government lacks funds to invest in the construction of oil and gas pipelines, railways and highways, the Nezavisimaya Gazeta daily said. Brazilia has successfully implemented a number of infrastructure projects within the framework of a government program. Russian experts will consider the practices of implementing top-priority projects, coordination of actions and control over this implementation.
