Putin to participate in Central Asian cooperation summit

Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in the meeting of the Central Asian Cooperation organization, which will be held in Dushanbe. The parties are supposed to sign a protocol on Russia's joining the agreement on the establishment of this organization. Participants of the meeting are expected to focus on countering illegal drug trafficking and fighting terrorism, as well as organized crime and religious extremism.

The Central Asian Cooperation organization was established in Alma Ata (Kazakhstan) in 2002. Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan joined the organization.
